• Cammeray

The day usually starts out on the water. We'll meet you at the wharf nest to the boat ramp, down at Tunks Park. The practical session will visit the sheltered waters of middle harbour, which offer protection in almost all weather conditions. Once the practical session(s) are completed, we'll return to the wharf and you'll have some time to make your way to the venue for the theory session: North Sydney leagues Club. We suggest that you take this time to get something to eat, as we will only have short breaks in the classroom.
Tunks Park  Practical Location:
Tunks Park,
Brothers Avenue, Northbridge, NSW 2062
Note: Parking on weekends may be busy with kids' sport on the adjacent playing fields. Allow some extras time for your arrival if you need to park a distance away. Public toilets are located on the other side of the playing fields. Don't park in any of the spaces designated for cars with trailers only. You may receive a parking fine!

46 Prince Alfred Parade, Newport.
View Website
Both theory and practical sessions will be conducted in/from Royal Motor Yacht Club ? Broken Bay. Our training vessels will be ready for you at the wharves, close to the boat ramp, inside the Club's Marina. We'll be near the courtyard outside the Bistro. You'll need to park somewhere in the top carpark, as the lower one is restricted. Whilst expansive and panoramic, Pittwater has enough little bays for us to find somewhere sheltered enough to deliver the practical session somewhere. Out on the water, there's plenty of examples of Navigation markers and collision regulation application to get a great, first-hand understanding of these topics. Once the practical session is done, you'll have some time to grab a bite in the bistro, before we meet in the Horseshoe Cove training room, located one floor above. This venue is so good, we know that many students come back and become members!

Note: there is another yacht club nearby, so please ensure you follow the directions to find us at the correct club in the morning!

• Brooklyn

Hidden away at the mouth of the Hawkesbury, our Brooklyn location is one of the most picturesque. We use a small room in a community centre for the theory, and head our onto the river, usually in between Dangar Island and Wobby Beach for the practical. There is no catering at the venue, however, there is a caf? next door which makes great coffees on a Sunday morning, and will also look after you at lunch time. The boat ramp at Parsley Bay is a 1 minute drive, with plenty of parking.
Brooklyn Meeting Rooms Theory venue:
Brooklyn Meeting Room, (in behind the council medical centre)
Hornsby Shire Council Buildings,
2-4 Dangar Road, Brooklyn NSW 2083
There is a door up the south side of the building to enter the room.

• Windsor

Historic Windsor has relied on the Hawkesbury river to function since it was settled. The river is still well used by the locals today, but more for recreation. In summer, the river is busy with Water skiing and Wakeboarding activity. In the colder months, we have more of the river to ourselves. As we usually start on the water in the morning, there's usually enough parking for our students, however, it can be busy some days when the powerboat club is racing. There are plenty of places in Windsor to grab a bite to eat, including the famous Pies if you are up to it. Windsor RSL club now has a great bistro and a caf? for smaller, quicker meals as well. There's plenty of parking at the RSL.
Governor Phillip Park Practical departs from:
Governor Phillip Park,
Eastern End of George St, Windsor.
If you are there early enough you may find us in the car park preparing the boat for launch, otherwise keep walking over the hill (follow the boats to the ramp) and you'll find us launching, or already alongside the wharf, ready to start the day.
Windsor RSL Theory venue:
Windsor RSL Club,
Argyle St & Mileham Sts, South Windsor.

Having recently undergone significant improvements, Windsor RSL offers us a great facility to host our courses. As mentioned above, there's plenty of parking, and several options for eating in the club.

• Penrith

Tucked in under the foothills of the blue mountains, this is the closest bit of water to Warragamba Dam, anyone can use. Penrith is well-served by the road network, making it easy to reach by road from most parts of Sydney. If you're coming to Sydney for the weekend to attend the course, you can even stay at the Famous Penrith Panthers club! You'll find a Coffee Club restaurant across the road from the wharf we use, and in the warmer months a floating caf? will come into the riverbank right next to the boat ramp. If you have some more time, there are plenty of options for food and drink throughout the Penrith area. Here we will usually conduct the practical first and then go to the classroom in the afternoon.
Nepean Shores Theory Location:
Nepean Shores
6-22 Tench Ave, Jamisontown NSW
Parking available on site, and there is a Coffee Club next door.

Nepean shores is part function centre, part accommodation and part on-site living. We are usually in the "Castlereagh Room", which is located in a building towards the centre of the grounds. Drive straight in the gates and you'll see the rooms on the left, and you'll usually see our boats parked around there as well. There not any on-site catering at Nepean shores, so we suggest you make sure you've eaten before arriving here. There are some food and drink vending machines only. View Website
Tench Ave Ramp Practical Location:
Tench Avenue Boat Ramp,
Tench Ave, Jamisontown NSW
Across the road from the Coffee Club, you'll find the boat ramp and wharf. Come down and you'll see us launching the boat early.

• Liverpool

In a quiet and little-used waterway that not a lot of Sydney realises exists, we will have plenty of room to do what we want to. As our favourite wharf is currently under repair, we'll launch our boats and meet you at a great floating pontoon wharf, on the side of the river, just downstream of our usual training areas. You'll have some time to get some food before meeting us at Club Italia for the theory. There's plenty of parking and not a lot of activity as the club is usually opened later in the day. The kitchen isn't open for lunch, so you can only get chips etc, and drinks at the club.
Raboul Rd Wharf Practical Location:
We'll meet you at the wharf adjacent to the boat ramp, on Rabaul Rd, just off Henry Lawson Drive in Georges Hall.
The ramp is in/next to Kentucky Reserve, and just across the road form Bankstown Airport.
Club Italia Theory Location:
Club Italia
Cnr Hollywood Dr & Wharf Rd, Lansvale NSW 2166

As mentioned above, the kitchen won't be open until later in the day, so only packaged food is available, along with drinks.

• Ryde Area

In West Ryde we'll go out onto the Parramatta River, which has plenty of interesting navigation features to experience and understand. The theory venue has a great view of the golf course, which can be very distracting, but we'll close the blinds if we think you're not concentrating! On weekends, we will start in the classroom, and do theory first, then the practical after. On weekday courses, we will go out on the water first, and then into the classroom after. This is due to the busyness of these venues at these times of the week. We'll tell you where to be in an SMS the day before.

• Taren Point

We have a great location for both the theory and practical sessions here. The practical offers us the option of heading upstream into the Georges River, or downstream onto Botany Bay in calmer conditions. Either way, we'll have lots of interesting navigation features to experience and explain. The theory takes place at Taren Point Bowling Club. The club has great facilities including a fantastic Bistro. There's also a great caf? across the road, and lots of other food shops to check out if you like.
